Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a path of knowledge and understanding of oneself , of one's behaviour patterns, of one's relational dynamics and of the psychological mechanisms, which sometimes can cause psychological distress . The ultimate goal is therefore the search for a profound change that improves the quality of life. It is important to underline that in order to undergo a psychotherapy it is not necessary the existence of a full-blown psychopathological disorder; on the contrary, psychotherapy acquires a fundamental role even in those uncomfortable situations that affect everyday life, and which determine the need to ask for help. Psychotherapy can be a time to dedicate to yourself and your mental health in order to improve the quality of your life.
« The psychotherapy activity is aimed at resolving the symptoms, and their causes, resulting from
psychopathology, maladjustments, suffering. »

The word psychotherapy derives from the Greek "psychè", which means "soul" and "therapeia", which means "I cure", etymologically therefore psychotherapy is the " cure of the soul ".
Beyond any definition, psychotherapy implies a change, which can take place both at the level of the patient's internal experience, therefore of the cognitive sphere (thoughts, beliefs, memories) and of the emotional sphere (affects and emotions), both in terms of acting in the world therefore also presupposes a modification of observable behaviour. The therapist's function is that of acting as an instrument able of activating the patient , in order to then enable the patient to act autonomously. Through the therapeutic relationship it is possible to alleviate the patient's difficulties, helping him to understand the causes of his discomfort and to find new solutions and new interpretations to deal with it.
There are various situations of discomfort and emotional discomfort for which the support of a psychotherapist can be useful. Some of them arise in a specific moment of life, others have been part of it for a very long time. In our studio we deal with:
◆ Anxiety Disorder
◆ Panic Attack Disorder
◆ Depression
◆ Eating disorders DCA (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, orthorexia)
◆ Personality disorders
◆ Sleep disorders
◆ Discomforts and difficulties of adolescence
◆ Dependencies
◆ Psychiatric disorders of a family member
◆ Psychotherapy alongside psychiatric therapies
◆ Family therapy
◆ Parenting support
◆ Grief processing
◆ Psychological support in case of chronic or acute organic diseases
In line with our approach we think that these disorders are simply the expression of blocks and stalemates in the life stories of people and systems: the therapeutic relationship allows a new movement that gives rise to a new story, where psychological fatigue is transformed into something generative.
Individual psychotherapy
It focuses on the experiences and relational world in which each individual is immersed. Therapist and patient identify and develop the patient's resources and potential together, finally activating a change that leads the person towards a more functional balance, oriented towards well-being and a better quality of life.
Couple psychotherapy
It facilitates the resolution of problems and conflicts in the couple, but above all it promotes the growth of the two individuals and of the couple itself. To achieve these objectives, patients and therapist work at various levels on relationships (within the couple, between the internal world of the individual and the partner, between the past and the present, between parents and children, between the couple and the systems in which it is inserted).
Family psychotherapy
In systemic family therapy, the family is not simply the sum of the individuals that compose it, but is an "open interactive system" made up of family members, their personal characteristics and the characteristics of their relationships. The psychotherapist's task is to help families rediscover their innate abilities to resolve conflicts and crises, helping them to resume their normal evolutionary process.
The systemic-family psychotherapist works on four main dimensions:
- family history;
- the structure of the system;
- the current phase of the family's life cycle;
- the function of the symptom within the balance of its group to which it belongs.
Group psychotherapy
In groups, patients compare and reflect, dismantling old premises and generating new premises previously considered unthinkable. It is a place where intense emotions that previously remained dormant can emerge, and then become a starting point for getting to know each other, reflecting together.
In particular, non-specific open groups and specific groups for patients with eating disorders and groups for their families are proposed. These are open groups in which everyone is free to enter and leave when they have achieved their therapeutic goal. The maximum number of participants is 8.
